Data analysis procedures

This discussion will help you prepare the data analysis section of your research design for your Program
Evaluation Plan project. Your peers and instructor will provide feedback that will help you refine your plan. This
is an extended post and should comprise 250-300 words.
As part of your Program Evaluation Plan project, you might propose collecting surveys, scored assessments,
transcribed conversations, observational notes, clinical records, or other forms of data. You will analyze this
data with the goal of answering the basic questions of the evaluation and uncovering other useful information.
For this discussion, first post details about the following aspects of your project:
Population. adolescent males 8-21 with austism
Clinical areas of concern. aggressive behavior
Clinical intervention and program services.-Modified CBT- with other integrated therapies. Provided in a
residential treatment facility
Questions to be answered by evaluation. Does modified-CBT therapy, administered in a residential treatment
facility setting (Journey of Explorers), help to reduce aggressive behaviors?
Then, describe step-by-step data analysis procedures you will use to answer the following: six-step TA process
What are the data analysis procedures (using both descriptive and inferential statistics) for the quantitative
component of the program evaluation plan? t-test for correlated means
What are the data analysis procedures for the qualitative components of the program evaluation plan?
Independent Samples t-test
Use published scholarly articles to find examples of data analyses that pose evaluation questions similar to
yours. Discuss how these studies used and justified similar data analysis procedures that could also be used in
your evaluation plan.

Population- adolescents with Autism- age from 8-21
Clinical area of concern- aggressive behaviors
Clinical intervention to be evaluated- Modified CBT- with other integrated therapies. Provided in a residential
treatment facility
State one evaluation question (pertinent to your planned evaluation) that could be answered with a quantitative
study. Then, specify the type of research design that would best answer this question, offering your rationale.
Lastly, identify the dependent and independent variables that would be measured to answer this evaluation
question.

Single system research design (SSRD) is used for evaluation. There are four essential properties to conducting
a SSRD. The properties are – select a practical and valid outcome measure to be assessed repeatedly over a
period of time, assess the outcome measure over time, utilize a graph to display results with time on the
horizontal axis and the outcome measure on the vertical axis, and make reasonable inferences (Royse, Thyer,
and Padgett 2016). Autism does not luminate uniform characteristics that induce aggressive behaviors to each
child; yet, specific events are contributed to the triggers that create an aggressive response. Therefore,
applying an assessment that will produce results that can be comparative for repeated use to examine
progress or lack of is important. There are many types of assessment available to measure different behaviors;
however, for the determination of progress utilizing a SSRD a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) will be
administered. This assessment helps to uncover the purpose that challenging behavior serves for the child
(Cipani 2017). Understanding the function of the behavior can identify where application of CBT to modify
these behaviors will be most beneficial. The program offering the behavior modification is the independent
variable and the aggressive behavior is the dependent variable.
State another evaluation question (pertinent to your planned evaluation) that could be answered with a
quantitative study. Then, specify the type of research design that would best answer this question, offering your
rationale. Lastly, identify the dependent and independent variables that would be measured to answer this
evaluation question.
Evaluation question
Are the interventions applied at Journey of Explorers as or more effective than that of a program doing
treatment as usual?
Research design
Application of a quasi-experimental design, Non-Equivalent Control Group Design (NCGD) can offer analysis
of a program impact, both positive and negative. NCGD is often used for practicality purposes. The intention is
to measure cause and effect in two groups not randomized. In addition, NCGD research method can be used
when information is urgently needed (Miller, Smith, Pugatch 2020).
There are several interventions that are utilized in treatment of disorders associated with autism. To perform a
NCGD research to measure the effectiveness of modified CBT for aggressive behavior in austistic youth,
another group similar would be compared. While many factors would not be the same, the factors that will be
the same are the autistic children and the behavior issues related to aggression. The analysis would be
examining the assessments both pre and post treatment in both groups and comparing the results of the group
that had treatment as usual to the group that had CBT. The independent factor of the study would be the
intervention method and the dependent factor would be the autistic children that the intervention would be
applied to.

Good concise beginnings here! As we turn the corner here and move towards the research process, we are
going to be focusing on validity in the near future. So, remember, as we head towards the Unit 8 assignment,
we will stay focused solely on the program evaluation. As stated in the video, the single system research
design (SSRD) is going to be focused on the results of an inventory given to the same population at two
separate points in time. The Non-Equivalent Control Group (NECD) will be helping you to compare the group
scores to each other. The average score of the experimental group will be compared to the average score of
the controlled group. This will help you answer if the treatment is better than usual. Stay simple, keep your
scope narrow, and your process will be much easier as we move further along! Good job!
this is a mere discussion however valuable to my paper i will order after this completed due tomorrow and will
pay as such if would like i will request your id
i will put the first section of data in discussion you dont need to and i will include the resources.
