Situational and Fiscal Analysis

Conduct a situational analysis by considering the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats of the healthcare organization as related to the identified problem. Students should
keep in mind that the strengths and weaknesses will likely be internal to the organization while opportunities
and threats will likely be external to the organization. Students will demonstrate critical thinking skills by
drawing conclusions and making inferences based on the data gathered to this point of the project. Students
will also be required to consider the financial implications of the identified problem.
Students are required to conduct a situational and fiscal analysis of the identified healthcare organizational
problem. It must include the following content information:
What makes the healthcare organization strong in this particular area?
What makes the healthcare organization weak in this particular area?
What can be done to overcome the identified weaknesses in order to take advantage of the opportunities?
What are some opportunities that the healthcare organization can leverage?
What are some of the threats that can undermine the organization’s goals and mission as related to the
identified problem?
How can the strengths be used to overcome the identified threats?
What would be the financial implications (expenses and revenue) for addressing the identified problem?
What would be the financial implications (expenses and revenue) for not addressing the identified problem?
