Windshield Survey Presentation:
Students will select a community in which to complete a Windshield Community Survey/Assessment using the ‘Windshield Survey Tool’ found in eLearn as a guide
Students will develop a PowerPoint presentation of the community
This PowerPoint presentation should be no less than 10 slides
Students will use actual pictures or videos of the community being assessed for the PowerPoint.
Creativity is encouraged and expected
Evaluation will be per rubric posted in eLearn
Any pictures of or quotes/interviews of individuals must be accompanied by a signed informed consent form by the individual(s)
Describe the public health or community nursing theory/model that can be used for a community improvement project
Describe the process in which community health policies are established and discuss the planning process
The findings of the Windshield Survey within your community and the topic of your Health Promotion Paper after completing the Windshield Survey
A voice reflection related to the three domains of learning and how they would be applied in your Health Promotion Paper
Reflect on how the course has shaped you as a professional nurse and community member to allow you to actively participate within your community.
Examine the use of community nursing in other countries such as how common community nursing is in other countries, modalities of care delivered, and/or what the United States could learn from other countries regarding implementation of community health nursing.
Conclude with what you would do differently if you could start over and what you learned from the experience.
