Are teams always the best option?
When should individuals be used rather than teams? Based on the three rules for the use of teams, individuals are
preferred when: (1) the work is simple and doesn’t need diverse input, (2) there is no need for or benefits from
a common purpose, and (3) there is little or no interdependence or need for coordination (Hughes, Ginnett, &
Curphy, 2018).
