- Stories about the founding figures of a religious tradition often tell us something about what is important to the tradition. Compare the traditional stories of the lives of two or more religious founders, such as Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, Nanak, Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha), Mahavira, and Zarathustra. Your focus should be on the patterns you see in the stories—how are they similar? How do you think the stories reflect important concerns or themes in their traditions?
