Connect the Dots Compensation

My program of study is Human Resources.
Let’s Connect the Dots with what we have learned so far in Compensation and Benefits! For this assignment
you are to determine, research and create your ‘perfect’ post-graduation employment situation. This will help
you demonstrate your understanding of compensation and benefits, but might also help you do a bit of
personal investigation about your own career direction.
Whatever your degree program here at FVTC, you will have a number of different directions you may take after
graduation. Consider your experience, your talent, your lifestyle choices and any other important factor and
decide on a position or job you would like to have directly out of school.
Create (or find) a position description which identifies the job, duties and requirements of your dream first job.
This description must be in a recognizable position description format.
Research compensation sources and determine what might be a reasonable salary range for this position.
Please reference two (2) credible sources and include enough information that I could also find your data.
Develop a list of discretionary benefits (not mandated, those you get regardless) which will be important to you
in this position. Briefly define each benefit (1-2 sentences, no more than a paragraph.) Include your rationale of
WHY those benefits are crucial to you.
Your conclusion should briefly discuss whether the nature of the work, the compensation, or the benefits are
most important to you. (Intrinsic vs. extrinsic rewards.)
