Emerging Technologies

  Emerging technologies are generally new but also include older technologies finding new applications. Emerging technologies are often perceived as capable of changing the status quo. What proportion of resources should a typical IT department devote to scanning and analyzing emerging technologies? Should emerging technology align with the business goals? Why or why not? What skills are required to implement the new technology? Ideally, how should technology integrate with other systems and processes in an organization?
