Engaging in peer reviewing has many benefits for the person being reviewed, but also for the reviewer. For the person being reviewed, they gain new insight and have an opportunity to see a different point of view (Lundstrom & Baker, 2009). For the reviewer they gain in the art of critical evaluative writing. “The skill of being able to critically evaluate writing, defined as the ability to look at a classmate’s writing and then provide effective feedback, particularly on a global level (i.e., at the level of content and organization), is a very necessary skill for quality writing and academic success in general” (Lundstrom & Baker, 2009, p. 31).
As a leader in the field of early childhood education, it is important that you gain in your ability to provide meaningful feedback, but also in your ability to receive constructive feedback. Both take practice, which is the aim of this peer evaluation assignment.
