? Format: This essay must be typed and include a Works Cited page. Font: Times New
Roman, 12 pt.
? Source(s): Use at least one of the essays from the textbook as a source. You may use
additional sources, but be sure to cite each source you use following MLA guidelines. You can find a section covering MLA Style guidelines on pages 447-464 of your textbook. For this assignment, pay particular attention to the guidelines for citing “Works in an Anthology” (which is what your textbook is) on page 449 of the section on “In-Text Citations,” and citing a “Selection in an Anthology or Chapter in an Edited Book” on page 453 of the section on “Works Cited” pages.
Topic:
Our first reading assignment deals with the influence of college professors on the thinking of their students. This is your opportunity to persuade me, as your reader, of the value of your opinion. Since one of the requirements of this paper is to use at least one essay from the book as a source, I suggest you select one of the essays from the reading assignment. Remember that your views on the subject should form the main idea of your essay, and your sources should “support” that ldea.
