Exploring Evolutionary Models and Speciation
Part A: Evolutionary Classifications

In this activity you will explore the structure of two different types of evolutionary models: Traditional or Phylogenetic Trees and Cladograms. For the purposes of this exercise, you will create these evolutionary diagrams for a familiar cultural category of your choice. Some examples are transportation, shoes, writing implements, communication devices, etc.- or anything of interest to you.

Part B: Theropods and Birds
Explore the most recent research with regards to the relationship between dinosaurs and birds. What did you fine most interesting? How did the information provided in chapter five apply to the evolving classifications of these two groups. (half page minimum and please cite your sources, at least one outside your text).
