Marketing is a relatively new discipline. The study of marketing emerged in the early 1900s. Since this time, four fundamental concepts have developed: production, product, selling, and marketing. Philip Kotler has developed the holistic market concept to add to this list. Each concept has a historical context but is still applicable today. To fully grasp marketing today, a historical perspective of these concepts is required.
Write a 2-3 page paper concerning each of the five market concepts.
To achieve maximum points for content and analysis, the following elements need thoroughly addressed.
? Explain the basic elements of each concept.
? Explain the historical significance of each concept.
? Give an example of a company that did or is now following the market concepts being described.
? Explain why the example chosen is following the market orientation being described.
? Provide at least two sources.
