Describe one health policy related to an identified health risk or disparity.
According to Temple (2023) many policies have been implemented over the decades with the goal of making food safer and more nutritious. A strategy that aims to counter the obesity epidemic must make schools a priority area. There are several reasons for this. First, an unhealthy lifestyle that leads to obesity starts in childhood. Teachers therefore have a responsibility to protect the health of their students by encouraging them to develop a healthy lifestyle. Second, as teachers have a captive audience who are likely to believe what they are told, the classroom is the perfect venue for health promotion.
