Images of nursing.

Everywhere we go, whether we are conscious of it or not, we encounter images of nursing. Television
commercials, television shows, magazines, movies, books all influence the public’s perception of nursing. Year
after year nursing is voted the “most trusted profession” but it seems most people do not fully understand what
nurses do. Please consider the following questions:
What was your own perception of nursing from your earliest recollection? always view nursing as a good
career and helping people
How often have you said you were “just a nurse”? everyday
Has anyone commented that you should have been a doctor because you are “so smart”? my parents always
wanted
Are you proud to be a nurse? I am proud to be a nurse
