As an educator, a large portion of learning and growth comes from reflection and refinement. In this journal, you will have the chance to reflect on the knowledge you have gained in this course regarding language development.
To prepare for this journal,
Read the article Engaging and Enriching: The Key to Developmentally Appropriate Academic Rigor.
In your 1 to 2 page journal, give your thoughts on the following prompts. Remember, these are just your thoughts. No outside references are needed for this journal. Respond to the following:
Explain how your knowledge of developmentally appropriate expectations for young children’s language acquisition has been affected during this class.
Identify at least two consequences that could result from either having developmentally inappropriate expectations or language activities.
Describe three new ideas learned so far that have been the most valuable to you.
Give at least two examples of how this class may affect decisions in your future role.
Outline at least two additional topics, related to language acquisition, that you would like to understand better.
Justify thoroughly one action you will take to enhance your learning on one of these topics.
