There have been several policy implementations in the United States that play a vital role in shaping the way law enforcement operate in a democratic
society. Every police practitioner must have some type of regard for human rights and freedom. Most importantly, the U.S. laws were enacted to protect its
citizens. Although the U.S. government and politicians have made numerous revisions and strides to ensure that the laws are applied in a fair and equitable
manner for all citizens, police agencies still have a tough time enforcing these laws. Based on the class discussions, reading material and guest speakers,
what measures should police leaders take maintain the equity they’ve built with the community stakeholders, while also addressing criminal deviant behavior.
