    Procrastination is defined as the act of putting off or delaying important tasks, often until the last minute. It is a common problem for many people and can be caused by various reasons such as lack of motivation, fear of failure, difficulty starting a task, perfectionism, lifestyle habits or even boredom. In order to understand how widespread procrastination is, research has found that between 80-95% of college students admit they have put off important tasks at least once in their lives.
One example of someone who has procrastinated was Ben, a high school student who was preparing for his final exams. He had planned out all his study sessions but kept putting them off until it was too late and he ended up having to cram all the information into one night before taking the exam. Unfortunately this left him feeling overwhelmed and anxious which impacted his result on the test day. I have experienced procrastination myself during my university studies when I had essays due every week but I would wait until the night before to start writing them. This often led me to feeling stressed out and not being able to focus properly as I knew there wasn't much time left to complete it so instead I would spend hours scrolling through social media trying to avoid doing it altogether! Although procrastinating can feel like an inevitable habit for some people there are ways you can break free from it if you want to! Some tips include breaking down large tasks into smaller chunks that are more manageable; setting deadlines for yourself with rewards; dealing with distractions like phones and laptop notifications; rewarding yourself after completing each task; planning ahead rather than leaving things till last minute etc. These strategies could help reduce your stress levels in the long run and will allow you to get things done quicker without worrying about running out of time! By understanding what causes us to procrastinate we can begin implementing strategies that will break us from this habit and help us become more productive individuals in our daily lives! This is why it's important for everyone to learn about procrastination so we can better manage our work responsibilities without feeling overwhelmed or stressed out at times when we need extra support most! My thesis states that although procrastinating may seem like an unavoidable habit at times, awareness around different techniques available today can help prevent us from falling back into this cycle again in future years!
