psychological interventions

Depression in women group may seek mental health services. Explore the current literature and select three counseling interventions used with this population. Focus on psychological interventions. Explain each intervention considering theory, modality (group, individual, family, …), specific techniques used, and other important information helpful to better understand the intervention. Evaluate the strengths and limitations for each intervention and the literature on this population as a whole. Consider what other researchers identify as strengths and limitations

Depression in women
Build the case, identify why we need to study this; where is the missing information
Brief summary paragraph informing the reader of what you are going to talk about

Example: Depression is more dominant in the female gender than their male counterparts. As much as women are prone to depression, the causes are equally different and the difference in the patterns, symptoms and effects are apparent. The major symptoms of depression include sleep disturbance, fatigue and low energy, thoughts of death, mood changes and hopelessness (cite source).
The purpose of this paper is to examine and evaluate some of the common interventions used to treat women with depression. I will focus on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Time-Limited Dynamic Therapy to treat women with depression.

Depression in Women
Who are we studying? Why do we need to know about them? What unique needs do they have? Are there similar populations we should consider to help us better understand the needs of this population?

Interventions
Intervention 1: Cognitive Behavior Therapy
What are the core tenants of this intervention? (cite research). Discuss theory, modality, settings, length, and specific techniques. Strengths of this intervention (aim for a minimum of 3) (cite research). Limitations of this intervention (aim for a minimum of 3) (cite research)

Intervention 2: Interpersonal Therapy
What are the core tenants of this intervention? Discuss theory, modality, settings, length, and specific techniques. Strengths of this intervention (aim for a minimum of 3). Limitations of this intervention (aim for a minimum of 3)

Intervention 3: Time-Limited Dynamic Therapy
What are the core tenants of this intervention? Discuss theory, modality, settings, length, and specific techniques. Strengths of this intervention (aim for a minimum of 3). Limitations of this intervention (aim for a minimum of 3)

Limitations of the Literature
What is missing? What else do we need to know? What should future research examine?
Example: Future research should concentrate on the aspect of how depression of women can be prevented rather than treatment alone.

Conclusion
What’s the take away message?
