Question 2:

After reading the textbook and watching the short video, do you better understand the argument that racial inequality is structural? Yes/No Provide evidence (No matter if you agree or disagree.) It must be clear to me that you watched the video!!
: What do you think has been the most important outcome of the Black Lives Matter movement? (The question is posed in such a way that allows for dissenting viewpoints; “important” can be positive or negative.)

In additional to your personal opinion, how might BLM be perceived from different populations of people: Black women, Black men, white men, white women, Hispanic women, Hispanic men, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Indigenous populations, LGBTQ+, and other groups living in the U.S.? (Actually, you can apply this to global movements — look what is happening in many other countries, esp. in Europe, also Nigeria and India).

Note: I listed the groups in a way that is “rigid” because it’s difficult to write out every group and its nuances. Within each group there are differing viewpoints. With that being said, due to a shared history and similar experiences, there are common perceptions that can be found within populations.

4. Can you relate to how others might feel about the BLM movement? Choose a population that has had a different history/life experiences than your own.
