Read Robert M. Carmack’s “Ethnohistory: A Review of its Development, Definitions, Methods and Aims”; and then skim through the following: Rhys Isaac’s The Transformation of Virginia (pp. 5-87, 115-138);
and James Axtell’s After Columbus: Essays in the Ethnohistory of Colonial North America (pp. 47-57, 73-85, 244-253). You should then write a short essay explaining what ethnohistory is, though making sure to provide
several examples from Isaac’s The Transformation of Virginia and/or James Axtells’ After Columbus. The Isaac
