Module 9 requires a rather large file. You should aim to clear at least 30GB of space on your system for that file. Even better, if you have a portable hard drive, you can actually do that entire module on the portable hard drive. You just have to navigate to it. The nice thing about doing this on a Mac is that you can drag and drop files and locations directly into terminal. When your hard drive is plugged in, you can do and then to see which drives you have. Usually a portable hard drive will be D or E, so if it’s D, you would and then eventually navigate to the correct folder.
With that Module 9 large file, for whatever reason, it takes a long time to download. Like longer than it should. I highly recommend getting a jumpstart on that so the files are there and ready to go when you are. What I would do personally, is navigate to exactly where I want to do that module. I would create a folder called Module9 (notice, no space) and cd into that folder. Then, I would activate my py3 environment and follow steps 1-6 of Tutorial Part 01. Now, this does not require you to know anything beyond what you already know about how to work with unix and your conda environment, so don’t feel like you’re rushing too far ahead. Because the file takes a long time, I would start it right before I went to bed and just leave my computer to download while I was sleeping.
