In a 3-4 page essay, you are asked to establish a clear, focused problem (e.g. the U.S. governmental advice for citizens to not wear face masks that
acknowledges the tensions within the problem (e.g. the rationale on the part of the government and CDC for offering that advice to the public, the health
impacts on the public by following that advice, other countries’ approach to citizens wearing masks), and offers your own position on this issue
You are invited to use your own experience as evidence and support for the issue you choose to take on, and are also asked to call upon 3-4 additional sources
via research to support your analysis and consideration of the problem you wish to address.
*Please insert hyperlinks for your sources the first time they appear in your essay. See examples in The NYTimes for how and when hyperlinks to outside
sources appear. Ideally, these sources are not just news sources, but perhaps also a TEDTalk or another academically verifiable source that can help explain
the problem or phenomena you are identifying at its core.
