Project 01 – Build a Web Site about a Country
Course Value: 20%
Due: End of day – October 19, 2020 (11:59pm)
Instructions:
1.) Select a country of the world
a. What is a country?
i. A real country…say Germany – Yes!
ii. A continent…say Africa – Yes…
iii. A fictional locale…say Mos Eisley or Vulcan…sure…that works too
iv. Basically, any geographic entity would do
v. Not sure? …see your instructor and ask…
2.) Create a 3 or more-page web site about the country selected in step 1
3.) The web site must contain the following:
a. A main navigation bar on every page which allows a user to navigate to any page on
your web site from any other page
b. An HTML table
c. At least two images
d. Custom CSS styles applied to every page of the website located on an external
stylesheet
e. Custom non-web-safe font (ie: a Google font or other custom font)
f. A separate credits page which gives credit for your images used on the web site by
providing links to the original web site of where each image was sourced
4.) The web site must be fully responsive and be useable between screen sizes of 320px wide to
1920px wide
5.) Use of “lorem ipsum” is permitted as placeholder text
6.) Validate your HTML and CSS using the validators located at the following addresses:
a. HTML Validator: https://validator.w3.org/
b. CSS Validator: https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
7.) Upload your web site to your portfolio server and send your instructor a link via email with the
subject “HTML / CSS – Level 1 – Project 01 – Name”
