What is expected of a DNP-prepared APRN

Now that you have reviewed and applied the AACN (2006) DNP Essentials and have some background on what is expected of a DNP-prepared APRN, think about what you will tell others (friends, family, colleagues, your patients and even complete strangers). Prepare a 3-minute “elevator” speech that includes why you are/ have subjected yourself to this intense program of higher education. Include professional ( think AACN DNP Essential Examples) and personal information that supports your decision. Include how the DNP degree will impact/inform your future evidence-based practice as an APRN, leadership skills and ultimately best patient outcomes. Each student will present their “speech” in this week's Zoom virtual classroom.
