Agents of Environmental Disease
Your community has some environmental concerns that you want to address with local government officials. Instead of creating a full presentation, you decide to prepare a table of notes about the concerns to use as a reference. Download and complete the EH3002 Assessment Template to complete this Competency Assessment.
In the Assessment Template, you will be responding to the following:
• Part 1: Research each type of agent of environmental health using multiple scholarly sources. For each agent, list at least three common sources, list at least three impacts on health, and describe at least two specific examples of environmental issues or illnesses relating to each type of agent (using 500–750 words for each). Note: You may NOT use the examples that are listed in the Learning Resources.
o Reference at least three scholarly resources in APA format that you used to find this information.
• Part 2: Choose one of the agents of environmental health that poses an issue in your area or an area you are familiar with. Research the issue through news articles, interviews, health department resources, etc., and explain the issue as outlined below.
o Identify the chosen agent of environmental health and explain the issue in your area that relates to this agent.
o Give a brief history of the issue including when it started and how it has been perpetuated.
o Explain any prevention or alleviation measures that have already been implemented to improve the situation.
o Explain any prevention or alleviation measures (not already implemented) that could improve the situation.
o Reference at least two scholarly resources in APA format that were used to complete this section of the Assessment.
