Amendments 1. Explain “due process”.  What are the four steps when considering a claim? 2. A few years back, a person was immediately removed from college after posting on his MySpace page that he thought some of his dorm neighbors needed to be shot.  (This event occurred shortly after the Virginia Tech incident.)  This was done without any hearing or judicial process.  Can the university do that?  Do you think it was the correct thing to do?  Was this a violation of his rights?  Please go into some detail. 3. Explain “equal protection”.  What are the three steps when considering a claim? 4. Which amendments deal with due process and/or equal protection? 5. If you violate someone else’s constitutional rights, can a hold harmless law protect you? 6. Briefly explain the following Acts and explain who is in charge of enforcement for each and what the first step in enforcement for each would be: a.  Title VII b.  Equal Pay Act c.  Title IX 7. List three examples of somebody (not a group) who could be considered a “state actor”. 8.  Explain the difference between Fundamental and Nonfundamental Rights. 9.  Briefly, what is the Amateur Sports Act and why did we need it enacted?
