Find a person with very visible veins in the arm (upper arm or forearm). Apply finger pressure to an outstanding vein to stop the blood flow. With another finger, push the blood away from its normal direction of flow. Did any bumps arise? Explain the cause of the bumps. Reverse the procedure. Apply pressure to the vein and apply pressure on the vein toward the heart with another finger. Did the vein diminish in size or color? Why?
