Assess the development of object permanence

  As an early childhood care provider, you’ve been asked to assess the development of object permanence in a group of infants ranging in age from three months to 12 months. Three of the children demonstrate the capacity to look for something they have caused to disappear, for example, a toy they have dropped. Two girls were able to find a missing object by lifting a cloth that was hiding it. One boy gazed in the direction of the missing object but made no movement to try to find it. 1.
