BIM applications
The Crossrail case study explains how BIM was applied within a railway project in London. You are required to analyse it and perform the following tasks:
• Describe the overall strategy Crossrail established for the implementation of BIM within their project and the value proposition,
• Identify, define, describe and analyse the ‘BIM uses’ that were adopted across the different project lifecycle phases (a definition for each of the adopted BIM uses should be provided in your response with the corresponding reference), and the benefits and challenges associated with each BIM use,
• Define, describe and analyse the ‘BIM uses’ that are planned in future and the expected benefits and challenges from their adoption, and
• Identify and explain the purpose of the BSI standards mentioned in the case study and the key information management technologies used in the case study.
