Bluing procedures

    Reflect: It may help to make a list of steps for each type of bluing, browning, and blackening of gunmetal. Respond: Select any two bluing procedures (cold bluing, hot bluing, hot caustic bluing) and any two browning procedures or products (basic, Laurel Mountain, etc.). Compare and contrast the two processes for each type of finish. Make sure you discuss materials, set up, safety precautions, etc. and explain the similarities and differences in the procedures.
