Boston University School of Social Work, Reason for my low GPA

Also why I have a low GPA and the reason why I’m switching from forensic psychology to MSW.

I also served in the military for the United States Marine Corps. I was stationed at Walter Reed National Medical Center where I help families and wounded with hospital care which included MEDEVAC the wounded to the Intensive care unit and ensuring that families received adequate care and etc.

I struggled throughout my undergraduate due to serving in the military and many life-changing events. I started my graduate degree where more challenging events such as withdrawals from classes affected my GPA which forced me to placed on dismissal from the university which was beyond my control. I didn’t know the policy and time frame in regard to withdrawing from classes. because of the late withdrawal affected my GPA. At this point, I have considered changing majors to Social work. With this degree, I can utilize social work skills within the military amongst my Army soldiers in need of care.

I’m currently an Army Specialist within the Army National Guard Virginia. it would be a great honor to attend your University

I’m originally from Flatbush, Brooklyn
I graduated from the University of Maryland University with a degree in psychology
I enlisted within the United States Marine Corps from 2006 to 2012
my Tours included Okinawa, Japan III Marine Expeditionary Force, 3d Maintenace Battalion from 2007 to 2009
my second duty station was Headquarters Marine Corps Quantico, Virginia
and third and final duty station within the Marine was Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where I took care of wounded Marines and their families
I’m currently stationed at 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion with the Army National Guard Virginia.

I currently work for the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery for the Navy surgeon general as special pays technician. My consist of Processes special pay requests for military personnel.
• Utilizes database to make entries regarding special pay tracking and accountability.
• Processes applications regarding special pay for the officer corps’ of the Medical Department.
• Utilizes manuals, instructions, directives, and memoranda regarding Medical Department Special Pays.
• Provides administrative assistance to the Director for the Special Pays Branch of the Manpower and Personnel Division and the Branch Head for the Special Pays Division.

I also did a President order exercise for the Federal Emergency Management Agency known as Eagle Horizon which I have rewarded a certificate of Appreciate for excellence
