Every state has these laws (referred to as either laws or statutes) and makes these laws available to the public online- absolutely free. Typically these laws are written in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade level language as required by state legislature in each state. For the state you wish to operate your business (locate it either online or physically) look up your state law to address the following questions: The source law for the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). In few sentences, explain what the UCC covers (what is its use). The source of law for handling labor disputes. In a few sentences, explain what is the difference between a full time, a part-time employee for your business as it is defined in the state versus a contract (independent contractor) employee in the state.
