DISCUSSION QUESTION: First Part… On April 12, 2018, two African/American men were arrested at a Starbucks in an upscale downtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. Their “crime” was not ordering anything while they waited for a friend to arrive to conduct a business meeting.
As a result of this occurrence, Howard Shultz, the Executive Chairman of Starbucks, sent the attached email to Starbucks cardholders.
Our textbook emphasizes the importance of social responsibility as an executive quality. Considering such things as legal issues, customer reactions, and financial impact, evaluate the Starbucks response, providing your opinion about whether Shultz went too far, not far enough, or acted correctly.
The second part of the participation requirement involves commenting or responding to another student or instructor post, which I will share once the first part of the assignment is completed. Your response must be substantive. Substantive posts do not solely consist of general comments such as, “I agree”, “I disagree”, “nice job with this post”, etc.
