Overview
Select a business problem that relates to college students. You will learn more about this problem by conducting primary and secondary research.
Business Report Guidelines
1. Cover Page + Table of Contents
2. Executive Summary
o brief overview of whole project
o 10-15% of actual report’s word count (the report is Section 3-7)
? this does not count toward word count
? ex., if section #3-7 totals 1,000 words, the ES should be about 100-150 words,
3. Introduction
o state objective of project: “the objective was to learn about …”
o provide background about the problem
o use secondary research
o approximately 20% of total word count
4. Methods
o discuss how you completed survey and interviews
o approximately 15% of total word count
5. Findings
o discuss what survey and interview revealed
o include at least two charts to show the most interesting findings
? create your own
? do not include the bar graphs from SurveyMonkey
o approximately 25% of total word count
6. Conclusions
o discuss what findings mean
o approximately 20% of total word count
7. Recommendations
o provide recommendations for future actions
o approximately 20% of total word count

Primary Research
Survey
• Create an online survey using www.surveymonkey.com.
• Design the survey so that it includes no more than 10 questions and can be completed in three to five minutes.
Interviews
• Conduct at least one interview. You can do these as a pair, or you can do one each.
Secondary Research
• Locate at least three credible resources to support your work.
