Capital Punishment Order Description (2) Journal Article Review: Once your topic for evaluation has been established (Capital Punishment), you are to do outside research on this topic of interest. Prepare a critical review of each article, using the following template / outline. You must respond to each section noted below and use the headings as noted below (in bold) for each article: ? ARTICLE CITATION: (Note: This should be in APA format) ? MAIN POINT: What are the main points or arguments the author(s) make in the article? What are the key inferences and conclusions the author(s) make? EVIDENCE: What evidence or information is given to support the points, inferences, or arguments? Is the evidence a fact or measured about something that actually has occurred? Are data or measurements presented? If so, what are they? RELIABILITY: What is the source of the information or evidence that is presented? Is original research presented? What are the results? If the study was replicated, would the author find the same results? Why or why not? PERSUASIVENESS: Is the evidence consistent with the argument? Is the argument convincing? Explain why or why not. Is there another way to interpret the evidence? If there is insufficient evidence for you to judge the argument, what specific additional evidence would be needed for you to judge the validity of the claim? WORLD VIEW: What general assumptions does that author have underlying their thinking? What are they taking for granted? What world view does the author have? Is there another world view or point of view that the author should consider? If yes, what is it? YOUR TAKE: What do you agree with in the article? What do you disagree with? FUTURE PROFESSION: How might you use this information in your future professional endeavors? What did you learn from the article that you find useful for the future? C. Provide a full one-page summary in which you compare and contrast the three articles you reviewed.
