Prepare a submit Case Memo 2 with your major explanatory (not prescriptive or normative) lessons that focus on cause-and-effect explanations of
U.S. foreign policy choices (e.g., the goals, the factors influencing the choices, the tradeoffs, etc.) that you derive from this case (i.e., what does this
case highlight about the “how” and “why” of U.S. foreign policy choices and U.S. foreign policy-making?).
Your case memo must be 2-3 pages, typed, double-spaced, with one-inch margins, using a 10- or 12-point font. It must consist of a minimum of 3 and
a maximum of 5 significant lessons. You may begin with a very short introduction, but you should concentrate on introducing and explaining the
explanatory lessons or insights you draw from the case.
