CLASSMATES FORUM POST TO CRITIQUE:
Hello All,
The professional aviation organization that I chose is the Aeronautical Radio, Inc. (ARINC). They are responsible for serving on the communications side of the industry as a not-profit since 1929. “ARINC provides such benefits as advanced technology, high-quality service, costbased charges, and long-standing relationships with the regulatory bodies and the aviation community” (Wensveen, 2011, pp116). The organization has support radio equipment industry standards on both nationally and internationally sides, in support for channel requirements enforced by the FCC.
ARINC was bought out by aviation electronics and communication equipment maker Rockwell Collins for $1.4 billion in late 2013, the purchase was made from The Carlyle Group firm. They operate from more than 50 offices in the US, and it does business in about 100 other countries from facilities in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Their regional offices reside in London and Singapore. Plus their products and services support more than 15,000 aircraft, 300 airlines, 150 airports, 200 train systems.
ARINC is responsible for Weather by wire service, Air/ground domestic and Air/ground international service that is a provided service of interrupted air-ground-air VHF voices services. They also have developed a new service that automatically collects data on a continuum. ARINC is pretty much responsible for just about everything involving communication. Aeronautical Radio, Inc, has a new name now, however the mission is still about the same since it was manufactured in 1929. I wonder have much data they give to the US government. LOL
