For this assignment, you have two options for your paper. Option Two is to select a specific conflict interac tion/situation which will serve as the basis for your paper. For Option Two, you need to address the points noted below. While merely addressing these points will earn you a passing grade, a more complete analysis where you go the extra step to demonstrate your knowledge about conflict and its many dimensions will help you gain greater scholarly recognition. The requisite issues to address include the following:
1) Describe the conflict, focusing on the situational/contextual characteristics of the event, including any pertinent demographic information about the parties involved, and the historical nature of the interactants’ relationship, particularly as it revolves around the conflict issue.
2) Discuss the concepts of conflict interaction goals and offer examples from the interaction of each of the three types (instrumental, identity, relational), and discuss specifically the concepts of power and face as manifest in the conflict parties’ behavior. Of noteworthiness, you are required to analyze the narratives of the parties to the conflict for the manifestation of said goal foci.
3) Analyze the conflict interaction employing at least one of the theori es discussed during the beginning of the course, as this will serve as the framework within which you will study your conflict situation (Negotiated Order Theory or Relational Order Theory). Additionally, review the appropriate literature and research in support of your theoretical framework. Again, this theory should serve as the template for analyzing the behavior of the conflict parties as you present and critique the narratives of said for the manifestation of your theoretical lens.
4) Include proper APA referencing and bibliographic procedures, along with an appropriate title, cover page, and editorial formatting. A maximum of four internet sources may be used.
