Comparison and Contrast For this quiz you will read an essay written by Nicholas D. Kristof entitled “Food for the Soul”, located on page 303 of your textbook ( Back to The Lack). There are five questions which I expect you to answer in at least three complete sentences. Each question will be worth five points. 1. What are the points of comparison in this essay? According to Kristof (and the experts he cites), how is obesity caused by “the transformation from family farms to industrial farming (8). What other effects of the transformation does he refer to? 4. Kristof uses several anecdotes and/or narratives in this essay. What, do you think, is his purpose in using these? Cite one and describe how it supports your answer. 5. Write a short paragraph about a farm you have visited, and describe how it compares to Kristof’s description of a family farm.
