Concurrency theory

'What is "concurrency"? How does concurrency theory explain disproportionate prevalence of HIV in Africa? Why is concurrency far more dangerous than serial monogamy? How is the concurrency related to other social, economic and political issues? In your essay, explain how and why the concurrency is related to the higher and more rapid spread of HIV in Africa. Also elaborate the comparison on the pattern of sexual behaviors between African countries (like Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia or Lesotho) and US and Thailand as evidences for the hypothesis.
