  In the context of this chapter and, having discussed these issues in class, answer these questions: What are the criminal law elements that must be proven for a crime to have been committed and a particular person held responsible for the crime? What is the difference between lacking competency to stand trial and lacking criminal responsibility? Which categories of persons has the Supreme Court decided are ineligible for the death penalty in the United States and why?
