Critical Reflection (Reflective Practice) Using Gibbs 1988 Reflective Cycle Order Description a social work student on placement with a Homelessness organisation and I need to reflect on a case study as part of my course work. I did a home visit regarding the well-being of a service user.found the service user in a distressful state and when I asked why he’s looking so low, he attributed it to several letters he’s received from bailiffs due to his debt. I contacted the source of the letters made them aware of the impact of those letters and proposed a payment plan of £5 a week as the service user said he can’t afford to pay more than that. To which they agree however they will not stop sending out letters. The service user disclosed to me he’s going to self-harm as the content of the letters is very depressing. I suggested support network and to go see his doctor. The service user has been diagnosed with mental illness, he’s alcoholic, and drug user. His mother has been diagnosed with dementia but his father is supportive of him and his mother. I need to link the reflection with the social work Professional Capability Framework (PCF) HCPC and Standard of Proficiency. I must use theories / literature and models to evidence the reflection. need to reflect more on the self-harming what could I have done at the time?
