Evaluate the authority or background of the author. Is this a scholarly/informative sourced from outside the community, or does it come from a perspective inside of the tradition (or touting the benefits of)? In other words, is it emic or etic?
Comment on the intended audience.
Explain how this work illuminates relates to the course, how it fills a gap in knowledge, and how each reading compliments the others
