curriculum according to a text
curriculum according to a text
Paper details:
the purpose of this assignment is to enact a personal re-conceptualization of curriculum by considering a text
of your choosing and to imagine the curriculum presented or represented by this text.
There are two limitations on your selection:
‘I- text should be substantial or significant, but defining this is up to you.
2- the text should not be explicitly related to education. (prefer if its a concrete thing)
the text you choose might include examples such as:
the life of person or a particular aspect of this person's life.
a geographical place, such as the town square, a dock, a playground, etc.
popular media, such as a movie, video game, etc.
works of art (e.g. collections- this needs to be substantial, remember)
music (see art) e.g. what is the curriculum of the Beatles' Rubber Soul album?
read the text critically and consider/ imagine the curriculum presented by the text. Try
this: suppose whatever this text represents( to you ) was in charge of education, what might this education
look like? Do you approve of this direction in pedagogy or do you find it problematic- and if so, why?
curriculum imagining should take many forms, including three-dimensional representations, although
you should prepared to explain your choice of communication and the embedded symbolism.
