Describe specific actions and events that took place within the work, as well as any images and ideas that stood out to you. This description can include your personal reflections, ideas, experiences, and observations about the performance, however, if you say, “I like that,” or “I didn’t like that”… describe why.
What did you see? What happened? What did you hear? How was lighting and costume used in the work? Describe the music and sound in this work and its relevance to the piece. How did the choreographer fill space with dance movement and/or physical stage design? Were there solos, duets, trios, group sections? What were the configurations? Describe the quality and choice of movement in each choreography and notate how it makes you feel. How do these works make you think about modern and contemporary?
