Students may form small groups or will work individually and will be given an age group for which they will
design a toy. Age groups will include: Infancy, Toddlerhood, Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, and
Adolescence. Students will design the toy, write a brief paper that addresses the developmental advantages of
this toy to the selected age group, and will present the project to the class.
Students may use any design tool of their choice. One that may be of use can be found here. There are also
instructional videos that are available for the SketchUP tool via YouTube
