6 months old: A toy appropriate for 6 month olds would be a Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes Musical Toy. This educational toy is designed to help infants explore the world of music in an age-appropriate way, as they grow and become more aware of their environment. It has 7 classical melodies from well-known composers like Bach, Beethoven and Mozart accompanied by colorful lights that flash when playing the tunes. The take along tunes also has a large center button that activates all the sounds so it’s easy for little fingers to press.
Jean Piaget's stage at this age is called the Sensorimotor Stage and focuses on physical development as children learn by exploring their environment through physical activity such as grasping objects, crawling and walking.
