How to do regular drills of your evacuation plan
How you will communicate with each other in the family
How to respond to natural disasters such as a fire, flood, or earthquake
How to respond in a mass casualty situation such as a major car accident or active shooter incident
Include at least 1 peer-reviewed and 2 evidence-based references and an APA-formatted reference page.

Part 2: Disaster Planning, Preparedness, and Response
Research disaster planning, preparedness, and response in your community.
Develop 10 interview questions for use with first responders about local community disaster planning, preparedness, and response to use in community interviews. Include questions about how responders work with the community.
Interview workers and leaders at the following community locations in person or online from:
Local fire station
Local emergency room
Local police station

Part 3: Disaster Recovery
Research the recovery phase of a disaster in the community. Consider how natural disasters such as floods or earthquakes can impact a city from an environmental, economic, political and social perspective.

Pre-recovery preparation
Immediate post-disaster recovery
Sustained post-disaster recovery.
Summarize your findings regarding roles and responsibilities for nurses during the recovery phase of a disaster.
Create another teaching tool for your family or the community that covers topics related to disaster recovery such as :
How to locate resources available in the local area after an emergency situation (i.e., food banks)
How families can access mental health services if needed after an emergency situation has occurred How individuals can apply for government assistance when available in situations where damage or loss of property may have occurred due to a major emergency event
Include at least 1 peer-reviewed and 2 evidence-based references and an APA formatted reference page. Format your assignment as another 1-page handout that could be used by members of your community following a natural disaster such as earthquake or flood.
