You are expected to form groups of at most 3 persons to complete the case. Only one person in your group may submit the report at the beginning of class.
This case is worth 50 points.
For this case study, you will write a report on the documentary titled “Prediction by the Numbers.” This documentary is available on Netflix (if you have a subscription) and on PBS (you can Google the title and the PBS link will show up as the first search). The documentary has a runtime of 53.05 minutes. Once you have viewed the documentary, prepare a report using the following guidelines.
• Report should be only one page long front and back. Report is double-spaced, and typed in font size 12 and font type Calibri (6 points).
• Names of your team members must be typed on the first page, top left of the report.
• Your report should include the following:
o Details of the documentary: Title, intended audience, purpose, main message (10 points).
o Prior knowledge of the subject: What did you know about the subject before you saw the documentary? What questions did you have about the subject? (10 points)
o Summarize the documentary: What are the main topics covered in the documentary? (10 points)
o Give personal comments: What part of the documentary did you like the most? What did you learn from it? How did the documentary change/ enhance your view of statistics? (14 points)
• Points will be awarded on the quality of the report. Do not simply quote what the characters in the documentary have said. Use your own thoughts and ideas while writing the report.
