Drama Component Essay
Drama Component Essay
Order Description
As a way of expressing some of the professional methods and reflections on your practice discussed in this module, write an essay that draws upon the film making
techniques and methods discussed, applying this analysis to ONE SCENE or SEQUENCE.The essay should discuss how you would approach the scene: how would you change to
make it more effective, to change its meaning, or to change its genre, tone, etc. Rather than merely stating how the scene or sequence was made, explain how you would
do it your way. PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING SCENE FROM THE MOVIE "M" (by Fritzlang 1931) - LINK:

PLEASE CHANGE THE SCENE AS FOLLOWING ( OR DIFFERENTLY IF YOU HAVE A BETTER IDEA ): There is no whistling, terrified face of the murder, he is struggling, trying to
control himself, trying to tame the compulsion to kill, seen as a victim of his compulsion, he awakes slight sympathy and compassion in the audience. - You can also
"extend" or improve this idea by other changes in the scene.
- Translate this onto the page, how would you communicate
this change to a crew, effect this on screen and communicate this to your audience? - START WITH THE CONCLUSION FIRST ( AFTER SCENE CHANGES - Write back to front so to
speak ). Please include page numbers. All film making techniques can be applied to change the scene and its meaning or impact ( sounds, background music, lighting,
shot angles, behavior of the characters etc ).
