economic concepts
The objective of the group project is to become comfortable in applying economic concepts
learned in class, become familiar with various sources of economic and financral information,
and improve teamwork and collaboration skills that are important in the business world.
The group project will be done in small groups of 3-4 students. The maximum points for the
group project will be 20. Check the Schedule of Classes section of the course syllabus to confirm
the due date for the project.
The group project will be graded based on two components: (i) a joint report submitted by the
group on or before the due date; and (ii) a 2-page individual submission, which should include a
summary of the group’s decision making process, a synthesis of the lessons learned working on
the project, and a description of the individual student’s contribution to the prOject.
You will need to submit both components on or before the deadline for receiving points for
the group project.
See below for a suggested outline for the joint report. Depending on the company you choose to
analyze, you may need to include additional items to address the issues and/questions below. Do
not wait till the last moment to decide on those issues. If you have any questions or concerns
about the project, discuss it with me as soon as you can.
